KMF's 3rd Annual Golf Against Gliomas Tournament
KMF's 2025 Golf Against Gliomas Tournament is brought to you by our Clubhouse Sponsor: Trammell Crow Company
This year, we’re turning our Annual Golf Tournament into a full WEEKEND of fun... Join us for Fall Fest: A Weekend of Play + Purpose to raise funds for brain cancer research at the Duke Brain Tumor Center.
Festivities begin Friday, September 12th with our 3rd Annual Golf Tournament at Lanier Islands Legacy Golf. The following Saturday, September 13th, we’ll host a series of "Fall Fest" events at The 88, a farm in Homer, GA including: a Mahjong Tournament & UGA game watch party, a Dove Hunt invitational, and Nashville Singer/Songwriter Concert under the stars. For more Fall Fest info & tickets, visit this link.
Since our foundation's inception in 2021, KMF has given over $1.3 MILLION in research grant funds to The Duke Brain Tumor Canter. The continued generosity of our donors has enabled us to fund the development and launch of three FDA-approved clinical trials for high-grade glioma and Glioblastoma patients, giving warriors like Knox a shot at a longer life.
We would LOVE to see you on the course this year!

Our Story
Since our foundation's inception in 2021, KMF has given $1.35 MILLION in research grant funds to Duke's Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center. The generosity of our donors has enabled us to fund the development and launch of three FDA-approved clinical trials for high-grade glioma and Glioblastoma patients, giving warriors like Knox a shot at a longer life.
There are now over 30 brain cancer warriors enrolled in KMF-funded clinical trials offered to patients at leading brain tumor centers, including Duke, NYU, UCSD, and Stanford. The world's brightest minds are now focusing their expertise on dismantling the barriers of high-grade glioma and Glioblastoma. Learn more about our Clinical Trials.
On Tuesday, December 1, 2020 our namesake Edward "Knox" Martin, Ill, beloved son and brother, cherished friend, and a Warrior if there ever was one, gained eternal after kicking brain cancer's butt for three years. He was 24 years old. Then, what began as a friend's compassionate desire to pay for Knox's funeral expenses, led to the creation of seed money for the Knox Martin Foundation for Brain Cancer Research. Learn more about our story.
Glioblastoma (GBM) is the deadliest, most aggressive form of brain cancer, and the kind that our namesake Knox had. Despite being first identified in the scientific literature in the 1920s, there are only four FDA-approved drugs to treat GBM. Four in 100 years. For GBM, the five-year relative survival rate is only 7.2% and median survival is only 8 months after diagnosis.
These devastating statistics attest to the severely underfunded and under-researched nature of brain cancer treatments – particularly treatments for GBM. Few research studies are conducted in aggressive brain cancers each year because the disease is so deadly; yet the disease remains deadly because so few research studies exist. Our goal is to end this infinite loop.
Today, fueled by the memory of Knox and the shared determination of donors spanning generations, the Knox Martin Foundation partners with the Duke Brain Tumor Center to fund clinical trials for high-grade glioma and Glioblastoma, giving warriors like Knox a shot at a longer life.
Knox didn't lose his battle, he ignited a MISSION. And through this foundation, his fight continues. Thank you for being here.
