It's Giving Tuesday at the Knox Martin Foundation
As the holiday season approaches, the Knox Martin Foundation is excited to celebrate Giving Tuesday! Giving Tuesday is a global movement to celebrate year-end charitable giving. Last year, we raised $7,000. This year, we’ve upped our goal to $10,000—and we need your help to get there.
The funds we raise go directly to Duke’s Brain Tumor Center for innovative research on aggressive brain cancer. Just a few weeks ago, we attended Duke’s bi-annual Brain Tumor Advisory Board meeting and met with Dr. Annick Desjardins MD, and Dr. Mustafa Khasraw MD. They shared that our gifts funded the development of two clinical trials for patients with high-grade gliomas, like the one Knox had. Both of these trials have been approved by the FDA, and will begin phase 1 on current brain cancer patients in early 2023!
We are so grateful and humbled when we consider how far KMF has come since its inception less than two years ago. We miss our Knoxy but we are so grateful for this foundation, our team, and you, our community, for keeping his name and his legacy alive!
