Get your Mahj On!

We invite you to join us on January 11th, 2025 — Mahjong player or not — for an afternoon of fun, competition, and conversation in honor of Saville Sullivan Larkin to help raise awareness and funding for the Knox Martin Foundation for Brain Cancer Research (KMF).

Player tickets are available for individuals and Player Tables are available for groups of 4 who want to play together!

Do you have to know how to play Mahjong to attend the event? NOPE! Social tickets will be available for any non-mahjong playing guests! Social Ticket holders will be invited to join the party as the tournament comes to an end— we’ll enjoy refreshments, kick off our silent action, and learn more about the ‘why’ behind our event. Players— encourage your spouses & friends to join us, regardless of if they’ve caught the mahjong bug or not.

Saville's Story

In August 2016, Saville Sullivan Larkin, a thriving sophomore at the university of Alabama, was diagnosed with stage 4 malignant brain cancer. She was 19 years old.

Despite the incredible physical tolls she endured, Saville's positivity never wavered and continued to shine. Supported by her family and friends, Saville fought with immense strength, faith, and dignity — continuing to live life to its fullest and inspiring others in the process.

Saville tragically passed away in October 2023 after a courageous and inspiring 7-year battle — less than a year after her dream wedding.

This Inaugural Mahjong Tournament on Saville's birthday weekend is being held in her honor to support the research & growth of the Knox Martin Foundation for Brain Cancer Research. KMF’s namesake Knox was an incredibly courageous young man and family friend of the Sullivans who also lost his life to brain cancer at the young age of 24.

Saville's loved ones admire and applaud the work that KMF is doing and strongly believe in the impact it has made and will continue to make on brain cancer research. Today, KMF partners with the neuro-oncologists and cutting-edge brain cancer researchers at the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University. KMF's mission is reverse the underfunded and under-researched nature of brain cancer by funding innovative research on the most aggressive forms of brain cancer.

Join us on January 11th — Mahjong player or not — as we come together to honor and remember Saville and give someone else's Saville — and someone else's Knox — a shot at a longer life expectancy.
